The strongest candidates are platform-flexible, able to connect ERP, planning, reporting and data environments rather than relying on one vendor ecosystem.

Demand is strongest for people who can improve data governance and reporting integrity, deliver practical automation and assess where AI or predictive tools genuinely add value. The differentiator is judgement, not novelty. In SMEs, the role is often an end-to-end generalist spanning configuration, reporting, process improvement and user support.
